Introduction of the Welfare Fund:

In the year 2002 the APF Welfare Fund was established with the aim of assisting the current and ex servicemen as well as disabled and dependants of the deceased for their education, health, economic and social behavior. To raise the fund this body on several occasions conducts various charity programs through managing resources. On 7 May 2002 it had the legal recognition and on 16 May 2003 it got affiliated to the Council of Social Welfare, Government of Nepal.

Welfare Activities:    

With an intent of increase in the income of the Welfare Fund side by side facilitating APF and public vehicles supply of petroleum products in partnership entrepreneur investment of rupees 150,000 a petrol pump by the name of New Banglamukhi Oil Stores is operational since March 05, 2006.

Accident Insurance:    

In consideration of collective interest and the benefit Accident Insurance was made in force for all the APF personnel which in the risky environment was felt of great relief. So far close kins of APF fatalities have been sanctioned the following amounts.

Senior Officers Rs. 500, 000

Junior Officers Rs. 300,000

Other Ranks Rs. 200,000  

Assistance In Funeral Rites:

APF Welfare Fund provides a sum of Rs. 25,000 to the kin of the deceased for mourning and funeral rites.

Installment Utilities:

Electronics and motor cycle like daily use commodities under installment arrangement at very nominal interest rate, are made available to all rank APF personnel. Till date 980 APF personnel have benefited from the scheme.

Band For Rental:

APF Band for rental to public obviously is for the service of the citizenry and at the same time that would accelerate in economic assistance to the Welfare Fund.

Operating of Clothing Fund:

APF personnel upon retirement get their remainder 50 % of clothing allowance accumulated sum deposited in the bank. This way receiving of savings from the clothing allowance in a lump sum sounds really good.

Investment In UN Missions:  

Welfare Fund borrowing loans from financial institutes and entrepreneurs an amount of Rs. 129,000,000 had arranged for Formed Police Unit (FPU) towards preparation for the United Nations mission in Liberia (UNMIL). Despite the loan repaid present standing the Welfare Fund bears all the expenses for the incoming and out going FPU contingents from the mission area.   

Assistance For School:

APF Welfare Fund assists the APF school with funds raised through contribution from various organizations, institutes and passionate individuals. Meeting the expenses incurred in education and construction of infra structures have resulted in positive outputs from the APF personnel. 

Miscellaneous Activities:

APF Welfare Fund lends Alfresco Garden, a multi purpose open platform within the headquarters premises free of cost to the in servicemen and at little price to the ex and outsiders. Besides the Welfare Fund cares for the production of telephone directory, operating cafeterias, uniform gadgets, and United Nations Mission aimed audio cassettes.

Prospective Schemes:

APF Welfare Fund shortly looks forward for the establishment of an hosiery industry.
